The Leo Awards are a project of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Foundation of British Columbia, Canada. The Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Foundation of British Columbia is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate and promote the achievements of the British Columbia film and television industry through the presentation of an annual awards program – the Leo Awards.

[The Leo Awards were first presented in 1999.]

The 2012 nominees will be announced during April 2012.

The Celebration Awards Ceremony will be held Friday, May 25 and the Gala Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 26, at the Fairmont Hotel in Vancouver, BC, Canada.



The 2012 Leo Awards Hosts are Sanctuary's Amanda Tapping. Amanda is thrilled to be co-hosting the Leo Awards this year with her friend and co-conspirator Robin Dunne.

Amanda Tapping spent the last four years starring in, directing, and executive producing Sanctuary, and the previous 11 years running around in army boots [NOTE: actually, air force boots] saving the planet from aliens in Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis.

Ms. Tapping recently completed three films: Space Milkshake, Random Acts of Romance, and Taken Back, and is currently in the director's chair for three episodes of Primeval: New World.

In 2009, Ms. Tapping co-founded the charity Sanctuary for Kids that helps children in crisis around the world. She also volunteers at her daughter's school that is by far her most frightening gig yet! Yes, she's a classic under achiever. Her parents are terribly disappointed.




Robin Dunne is excited to be co-hosting the Leo Awards this year with his evil twin Amanda Tapping.

Robin is best known for his work as Dr. Will Zimmerman on the Vancouver-based hit show Sanctuary.

He also recently starred in and produced the sci-fi comedy film Space Milkshake due to be released this summer.

Robin's other accomplishments include: being thrown out of the Opus Hotel for removing his pants in the bar and making love to Jennifer Connelly in a dream.
